It takes courage to acknowledge that our old ways of doing things are no longer serving us.
Meeting you where you Are
Whether you’ve been in therapy for years or find yourself in need of guidance around a specific life change, I will focus on creating a customized path to clarity and well-being.
My goal in working with my clients it to help uncover or reclaim both internal and external resources that can lead to healing and progress towards personal and professional goals. Ultimately, I see therapy as a co-collaboration wherein both the client and I must show up prepared to get curious about what may be contributing to negative habitual patterns, unhelpful thought processes and uncomfortable symptoms. Overall, I work from a foundational belief that ALL of us are capable of taking the steps necessary to actualize our full potential – the brilliance of who we truly are – and that sometimes unconscious patterns get in the way of this.
My Approach

Access Your Potential
I work from a foundational belief that all of us are capable of taking the steps necessary to actualize our full potential.

Naropa Trained
Rooted in contemplative education, Naropa's approach integrates Eastern wisdom studies with traditional Western scholarship.

Inclusive
Culturally sensitive and purposefully inclusive – I work with adolescents, seniors, veterans, and the LGBTQ community, among many others.

EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy is an interactive technique used to relieve psychological stress, trauma and PTSD.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy
The term "dialectical" comes from the idea that bringing together two opposites in therapy – acceptance and change – brings better results than either one alone.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy
This is a short-term, goal-oriented treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving in order to change patterns of thinking or behavior.

Motivational Interviewing
A practical and empathetic method that helps people resolve ambivalent feelings and insecurities to find the internal motivation they need to change their behavior.

What to Expect
Initial consult lasts approximately 1 hour. I will send paperwork before-hand via email to preserve meeting time for discussing current challenges and goals for therapy. I may ask certain questions regarding the past to get a better sense of where things are at currently but do not intend collect a full history of major life events during the first meeting (this information will be collected as therapy progresses).
I encourage everyone I meet with to practice discernment about whether or not the space feels safe and whether or not I might be a good fit as a therapist. It is important to determine if this is the right healing environment for you specifically, as we all have differing needs. I will help to create a sense of what working together looks like and can help to answer any further questions you may have about my approach as a therapist.
Typically for ongoing clients, I recommend meeting on a weekly basis (for 50 minute sessions) to build momentum and to focus on building foundational support. However, I understand that due to conflicting schedules or monetary reasons this may not always be possible. I am willing to work with these challenges and believe strongly in collaborating in order to make therapy accessible to anybody in need of additional support. I cater my work to each client’s individual needs and will create an outline and general focus of treatment in initial sessions.
Some clients are able to achieve the relief and understanding they seek in months. Others may need more time as deep seated issues require a thorough and nuanced level of engagement or there may be new issues that arise due to unforeseen life events. It is always the client who is in control of their treatment and decides what is right for them and when.
